This is a detail of a simple loop layout where two 3/4 bridge sections were joined to create this interesting swooping bridge.

I would not have thought this design would work at all, and without the train car, the engine will get stuck in the v of the bridge. However, the train car adds enough momentum to push the engine across the gap. Below, you can see that the engine's drive-wheels come completely clear of the track at one point.
